130: BONUS| My Mushroom Festival Recap from North Carolina + ITS MY BIRTHDAY

MY Mushroom Festival Recap, NEW house, NEW studio, and it’s MY BIRTHDAY PLUS NAMA TAKEOVER—so shroom in on Instagram for that.

During the end of the episode (14min), I go over my recap of the in North Carolina.

Welcome to this special episode of the Flora Funga Podcast, hosted by KK! This week, I’m streaming from my new studio setup and bringing you some behind-the-scenes updates, juicy news, and exciting mushroom reviews. I just moved into a new place, and while my podcast studio is still a work in progress, I’m thrilled to share some cool updates with you!

Today, I’m sipping on GT's Alive Matcha Cream Soda, which I’ll be reviewing on my YouTube channel soon as part of my new mushroom product review series. Mushroom products are becoming increasingly popular, and someone at the farmer’s market even mentioned how much they loved these drinks despite being skeptical about the mushroom trend. Stay tuned for more reviews, including melting Forest energy drinks infused with nootropics and mushrooms.

I also wanted to highlight the amazing Mountain Makers Mushroom and Music Festival I attended in North Carolina, featuring mushrooms, makers, mountains, and music. It was an incredible experience, and I’m excited to attend upcoming mushroom festivals in Georgia, Oklahoma, and Washington. Be sure to check out my website for a full calendar of events, so you can join me at these exciting gatherings.

Speaking of exciting news, Thursday is my birthday, and I’ll be turning 30! To celebrate, I’m launching a fun nomination process where you, my listeners, can vote on different categories like “Top Mushroom Artist” or “Most Likely to Survive Naked and Afraid.” Keep an eye out for the voting form on my website and social media.

In the world of mycology, I’ve been diving into some fascinating research on Lion’s Mane mushrooms and their neuroprotective benefits. Specifically, a compound called erinacine S has been shown to help brain cells regenerate, which could be useful in treating neurodegenerative diseases like Alzheimer’s. It’s amazing to see more people using functional mushrooms for their health, and research is backing up their benefits.

Lastly, I want to give a shout-out to @Desert_Alchemist for his fantastic mushroom tinctures and foraging experiences. If you’re not following him yet, you should! He’s a great source of knowledge in the mushroom community.

Thank you for tuning in to this week’s bonus episode. Make sure to follow me on all social platforms, subscribe, and share this episode with your friends and family. Stay curious, and go learn something new today!
